Troubleshooting your Camera
I have one of the supported Olympus USB camera models. I get the error message "Dcam.establish.connection" or "Dcam.take.preview" when I enter the picture capture mode.
- To verify Camera Communication with the PC, first close the IVIS Plus program.
- Choose your 'My Computer' icon on the Desktop.
- You should have an icon in your listing of drives labeled as a 'Removeable Disk.' If no, click here to verify there is not a card problem and/or the camera has 'fallen asleep,' if yes, continue.
- Double-click the removeable disk icon to check the
camera-control mode.
- If you get a folder list when you double-click the drive, then camera control mode will need to be changed. Click here for those instructions.
- If you get a 'Please insert a disk' (2000/XP) or 'The device is not ready' (98) message, the camera is in the correct mode to be controlled by the IVIS software.
- Open the IVIS Plus software and choose the photo box to capture a photo.
- If the error persists, you may need to re-install the Camera Setup Utility, available on your installation CD, or may be downloaded here.
