Shop Floor Data Collection ID Cards
The same ID cards you use to identify your staff can also be used track inventory, perform job costing and check out tools. Combine a photo, bar code and magnetic stripe on a single ID card: employees no longer need to carry a chain full of cards to operate multiple systems. Reader TechnologyBar codes are most commonly used in shop floor data collection systems. Bar code wands scan the codes on employees' ID cards, then scan the bar code on the equipment, tool or other device that you are tracking. Both magnetic stripes and bar codes can be combined on a single ID card if you're combining your shop floor data collection ID cards with other automated data collection systems.
There was a time when using a bar code system involved applying sticky labels to your ID cards; a time-consuming process of making sure each label was carefully placed in exactly the right spot. With IDenticard, you can say good-bye to messy bar code labels. With our ID cards, you print bar codes directly on the card. Bar codes print clearly, cleanly and accurately — at the same time you're printing individuals' names.
Our special bar code software enables you to do the laser-printing yourself. Or we can get you started by printing your names and bar codes from the information you provide us on computer disk. We'll deliver your ID cards all ready for photo placement, lamination and issue. Then you can use the software for new hires and replacement badges.
We also provide special camouflage techniques to protect your bar codes from improper copying. Cover Code camouflages the bar code with straight bars or even your organization's distinctive logo. The design does not detract from the design of your ID card. Nor does it affect the laminate bond as much as most other types of covers. Convenience in Issuing
Laser-Printable ID Cards Laser-printable ID cards are our most popular type of cards. They come to you with four cards per sheet that easily glide through your laser printer, and are custom designed with your colors and your logo. Laser-printable IDs allow you to print bar codes directly on your cards. They also use the different font styles available with laser printers, so names and departments print in BIG, BOLD type.
After installing the special bar code software, download employee or student data from your existing computer files. (Or enter the information directly.) Seconds after you hand-feed a sheet of badges into your laser printer, they'll emerge complete with names, departments and/or bar codes — ready for ID photo placement, lamination and issue. (To add a photo to your shop floor data collection cards, use them in conjunction with our film-based camera systems.)
IDenticard cards can be created and issued through digital imaging systems for added convenience and easy reissuing. (See Photo Identification for more card details.) Reader Compatibility
There are three ways to make sure your ID cards will work in your system: test, test, test. IDenticard will send you sample cards exactly like the type of cards you are ordering. You can make sure that our cards are perfectly compatible with your system. Protecting Your Professional Image
ID cards are the foundation of your security system. Because they are carried and displayed by every member of your organization, they will also be seen by persons in the community, by customers, suppliers and others. In many ways, they are like your corporate letterhead or business cards. ID cards carry your image to the outside world. Because we recognize the importance of well-designed security identification cards, IDenticard badges are attractive as well as secure. We use your colors and your logo to custom design your cards, keeping in mind both aesthetics and functionality. |
