IDenticard Awarded Patent for SmartDisc™
-- a Smart Card Solution for Existing Applications

Lancaster, PA (August 2, 2004) IDenticard, a leading producer of biometric security identification and access control systems, has been awarded a patent for SmartDisc -- a 1-5/8-inch wafer using the MIFARE architecture platform, which can be applied to any existing card surface to transform it instantly into a contactless smart card.

"SmartDisc is an affordable option that allows organizations to benefit from the added security of contactless smart card technology while using their existing badges," explained Bob Hager, general manager, IDenticard.  "Highly customizable and durable, SmartDisc is an ideal interim solution for organizations that want to slowly upgrade their facilities to take advantage of smart card capabilities."  Made of durable material, SmartDisc features high data integrity.

In addition to SmartDisc, IDenticard's patented contactless smart card solutions include IDentiSMART cards (available in several sizes) and SmartKey, a two-inch flat key in a protective plastic holder that may be attached to a key ring.  When presented at a programmed, contactless reader, SmartKey allows access to secured doors.  All three IDentiSMART products feature the standard MIFARE architecture platform and can be programmed to work with a variety of access control readers.
