IDenticard® Debuts Centurion™ Ver. 3.0

Lancaster, PA (Mar. 16, 2003) IDenticard announces the release of Centurion version 3.0 -- the stand-alone access control system that now supports up to four Centurion panels that can accommodate up to eight readers.  "The versatility of Centurion 3.0 makes it a great option for organizations that don't need an on-line system that's continuously monitored, but who require access control with history-reviewing capabilities at several doors," said Aaron Henderson, IDenticard's access control product manager.

Whereas the previous version of Centurion had one, two-reader control panel, the updated software supports up to four panels, making it an eight-reader system.  Centurion is also sporting a distinctive new look, making it more user-friendly than ever.

"We've received outstanding customer feedback regarding the previous version of Centurion," said Henderson.  "At IDenticard, we actively seek feedback regarding our products so that we can further improve them by incorporating the suggestions of the people who are actually using them.  We learned some of our customers would like to see Centurion support more panels.  We made sure it does."

Additional key features new to Centurion version 3.0 include

  • Schedule daily automatic downloads of events from designated panels when software is running
  • The programming computer can communicate over the Ethernet using a NetLink SP device
  • Easier system configuration with Lock Forms feature
  • Changeable software skins
  • Updated panel firmware
  • Password access to software
  • Software supports ABA free access
  • Software supports ABA site code access
  • Software supports selectable Wiegand bit patterns

Centurion version 3.0 also comes with a revised and updated installation and operation manual and training CD, making self-installation and instruction a snap.

As a stand-alone unit, Centurion installs easily with minimal wiring. In addition, Centurion can be programmed from a laptop computer. "Because Centurion does not need to be connected to a central monitoring PC, it offers a great deal of flexibility," said Henderson. "You can install the controllers to accommodate the layout of the building of the area to be secured."

Centurion also offers a variety of options for card reader types (including, but not limited to magnetic stripe, ABA, proximity, smart card and biometric) cardholder programming, relay input, alarm activation and report management.
