Blackboard Building Blocks Program Accommodates
Wider Range of Users

Lancaster, PA (June 14, 2004) Clients in the education market will want to know more about the exciting new technological development that makes IDentiPASS, IDenticard's premier access control system, compatible with the Blackboard Transaction System. Blackboard Building Blocks data integration is now available for both the Blackboard Transaction System -- Unix and Windows Editions.

"Our mutual clients will now be able to take advantage of Building Blocks data integration on all Blackboard Transaction Systems," said Kathy Turany, vice president of business development at Blackboard. IDenticard is a member of Blackboard's Building Blocks Program, which provides developer services for creating extensions to Blackboard enterprise software systems. Blackboard's Building Blocks Manager technology allows for the exchange of data between the Blackboard Commerce Suite and multiple third-party systems such as digital imaging, access control and residential management, ensuring complete data synchronization and data integrity. Building Blocks also facilitates integration interfaces with IDenticard's IVIS Plus line of five digital imaging solutions.

The Blackboard Transaction System is the software platform for managing debit accounts as well as student ID cards and campus card readers. In addition to interfacing with IDentiPASS, the Blackboard Transaction System includes food service, activities and event management, online account management, copier/printer control, laundry services and vending functionality.
